One-man-band and DJ Brent Persia puts on a modern live music show so unique and full that it simply must be experienced to be believed. Brent first became known around Western New York in 2005 for his high energy acoustic party rock covers and originals. By 2011 he was inspired by the possibilities of modern music technologies and got the idea to blend two passions, live music and electronic DJing, seamlessly together into a state of the art live performance.
Singing and playing while manipulating samples and connecting songs subtly and seamlessly seems like an impossible job for a single performer. However, today Brent does all this and the atmosphere he creates makes people immediately want to get up and dance! To achieve his vision Brent had to build custom looping machines, drum machines, sample players and turntables. Numerous pedals, controllers and a laptop enable him to blend his party rock music with the electronic music world. Another of Brent's musical inventions, the “guitambourine,” is attached to his guitar and allows him to add live percussion. Often surprised that so much sound could come from one person, audiences regularly ask him to explain how it all works.
Brent's act is quickly rising. In 2012 performances doubled, he played 100 shows and 20 new venues were added. While performing at festivals, bars, clubs, weddings, fundraisers, parties and college events Brent has internalized an incredible catalog of diverse songs. Many times dubbed a "human jukebox," he faithfully performs hits of today's top 40, 80s and 90s rock, EDM, house, dance, hip hop, R&B, modern country and the oldies. Brent's versatility allows him to play any type of venue and playlists are tailored for the occasion.
Brent Persia was nominated twice for best acoustic performer in Nightlife Magazine's “Best of Western New York” contest. In 2013 Brent held a weekly DJ residency at Dunn Tire Park providing live music and DJ music at Western New York's biggest cruise night with thousands in attendance each night. Brent's music has been featured at the Music is Art festival, Canal Fest, and on WKBW Buffalo Channel 7 News, Western New York's 107.7 FM The Lake, 91.3 FM WBNY, 90.7 FM WGCC, 1490 AM WBTA, 1300 AM WXRL, LCTV Adelphia Channel 13, and Adelphia Channel 20. Brent has also been featured in The Batavia Daily News, The Batavian and The Niagara Gazette.
